Disney Movie Review – The Fairies

Fairies are magical creatures that can fly and they take care of nature, people, animals and plants. They live in the magical Pixie Hollow in Never Land. Fairies are small, sprite-like creatures that can change into many different forms. They also have magical abilities that allow them to grant wishes to humans and help them in life.

The film focuses on Tinker Bell, a tinker fairy. She is a pixie who loves to create and invent things and uses her imagination to make dreams come true. She has a lot of rivals among the other fairies in the film.

While the movie doesn’t have the depth and complexity of a Pixar blockbuster, it is still entertaining and charming. The animation is superb and the characters are well-developed. The characters of the fairy world are beautifully illustrated. The main cast includes Mae Whitman, Lauren Mote, Pamela Adlon, Michael Sheen, Lucy Liu, Raven-Symone, Kristen Chenoweth and Jeff Bennett.

Characters of the Fairies

Tinker Bell (Mae Whitman) is the tinker-talent fairy and the heroine of the film. She is a sprite with blue eyes and shoulder-length blonde hair that she wears in a bun. She wears a green tinker-belly dress and emerald shoes with pompoms. Her wings are clear and resemble her sister Periwinkle’s.

Iridessa (Jane Horrocks) is an overseer of the tinker-fairies who lives in the forest of Never Land. She is a sprite who has brown eyebrows and hair, blue eyes, a short neck and is slender. She wears a green sleeveless dress and matching emerald shoes with pompoms.

Zarina (Christina Hendricks) is a misguided dust-keeper fairy who steals the mystical blue pixie dust from the pixie dust tree, endangering all of Pixie Hollow. She is a slender fairy with green eyes and a pink nose. She has a large mouth and stubby fingers and wears a purple sports shirt.

Lumina (Jessica DiCicco) is a light-fairy who is Iridessa’s partner. She is a sprite that has white hair and icy blue eyes. She is slender and wears a teal dress and matching emerald shoes. Lord Milori (Timothy Dalton) is a frost-fairy leader and the love interest of Queen Clarion. He is a sprite with white hair, blue eyes and a teal outfit.
