Fairies and Enemies

Fairies are magical creatures that can be friendly or malevolent. Their powers are tied to the four elements of nature – earth, air, fire and water. They are often associated with plants and trees. Many cultures and traditions have different ideas about where they come from – they can be spirits of the dead, alchemical elementals, demoted angels, demons or pagan gods.

The Unseelie Court of faeries are the most malevolent and unpredictable group of fairies. They are said to be able to shapeshift. They are also known for their mischievous nature and can be dangerous to humans. They are led by Oberon, High King of Faeries.

Seelie Court fairies are usually benevolent and will repay a favor or avenge an insult. They are more easily amused by pranks and have a merrier disposition than their cousins in the Unseelie Court.

They are very fond of playing tricks on humans and have been known to steal ingredients from restaurants. They are also very fond of drinking booze and eating sweets. They are also known to play pranks that go too far, such as making people fall from cliffs.

Fairies are incredibly powerful, but their powers are limited to the four elements. However, some have a variety of special abilities that they can use to manipulate the environment. This can include things like manipulating weather, emotions, longevity, fertility or other aspects of nature.

Those who don’t like fairy pranks can use plants such as marigolds, primroses, rowan wood and St John’s wort to keep fairies away. They can also be repelled by iron, horseshoes or an iron nail hung over a door. Fairies can be prevented from stealing food from stalls by hanging a copper kettle or brass pot on the front porch.

A fairy can be spooked by certain foods, drinks and other items. They are also very weak to metals. A fairy’s body gives off a faint glow at night, and they often frolic in the moonlight or sleep on lilly pads, oyster shells and silky flowers. They may have an affinity for a particular animal, or they could be drawn to a specific tree, stream or other aspect of nature.

The fairies in Touhou Sangetsusei are all able to speak at least simple words, according to one of ZUN’s e-mails. They can understand simple slang and jokes but would not be able to hold a conversation in English. In addition, they can also use the magic of their pixie dust to hypnotize others.
