Fairies have captivated the public imagination since the series of five photographs taken by Elsie Wright and Frances Griffiths in 1917 and 1920 at their home in Cottingley, near Bradford, England. The photos came to the attention of Arthur Conan Doyle, and were interpreted as clear proof of the existence of fairies. The girls later admitted that the first four photographs were faked, but maintained that the fifth photograph was genuine. The photographs and the cameras used are on display at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford.
From a fairy playmate for a New Jersey couple to a poltergeist armada that flies near NASA, these are the best fairies caught on camera.
