Dragons are feared throughout the world for their power, strength, and ability to destroy things. They are the most powerful creatures in the pokemon universe. However, there are some Pokemon that can counter them — and these creatures are called Fairy Pokemon. Fairy Pokemon are immune to all of the dragon types and can do a lot of damage to them. Here are some of the best fairy pokemon you can use in your battles.

Why are fairy Pokemon immune to dragon moves?

The reason that Fairy-type Pokemon are immune to Dragon-type moves is a bit complicated. It’s actually the result of a nerf that was intended to balance the game. Dragons were too centralizing and overpowered at that point, so they needed to be nerfed. Fairy-type Pokemon were chosen as the perfect way to do this because in ancient folklore, fairy magic was able to defeat Dragons.

There are many good options when it comes to a fairy pokemon, but some of them are better than others. Here are a few of the best ones that you can choose from:

If you’re looking for an option that has both good defenses and high Special Attack, then look no further than Yanmega. This Pokemon has great offensive stats, but it can also do some decent damage on the defensive side thanks to its Psychic defenses.

Another option for a Fairy-type Pokemon that can also do some good damage on the defensive side is Hatterene. This Pokemon has a Psychic/Fairy type that helps it resist the Poison weakness that is common among Fairy-types, but it can be hard to find since it was introduced in Gen 3.

One of the more unique choices for a fairy pokemon is Sylveon. This Ghost/Fairy Pokemon is a very versatile pick that can do well against most types, including Dark-types. Its ability to avoid the effects of abilities is especially helpful, and it has a high Special Attack and good base HP.

Lastly, there’s Magearna. This Mythical Pokemon is a dual Fairy/Dragon that is immune to no fewer than seven different types of damage. This makes it a strong attacker, and its ability to deal extra damage to Dragon-types is a huge bonus.

The only downside to this pokemon is that it is quite difficult to obtain, since it is a Mythical and requires a specific held item in order to evolve.

The only other Pokemon that is both a Fairy-type and a Dragon-type is the mythical Dialga, which can be found in the Sun and Moon expansion. This Pokemon has excellent stats across the board and can be a strong member of any team thanks to its diverse immunity, high Special Attack stat, and access to powerful moves like STAB Roar of Time that can seriously injure or even OHKO opponents. In addition, this Pokemon has a great ability in Pressure that can be used to quickly drain an opponent’s PP.
