Fairy Pokemon Weakness and Resistances

If you’re battling a fairy pokemon, you’ll want to be aware of its weaknesses and resistances. Fairy-type Pokemon are the newest addition to the Pokemon series, introduced in generation six. They quickly carved out their niche in the type chart, thanks to their impressive resistances and minimal weaknesses for enemies to exploit.

While it may seem strange that a Fairy-type Pokémon is weak to Fire, this actually makes sense on a thematic level. In ancient folklore, fairies often represent purity and light, while fire symbolizes power and enlightenment. This creates a natural counterbalance. Fairy-type Pokemon are also weak to Poison, which can represent toxicity and corruption.

When it comes to fighting Fairy pokemon, the best strategy is to play smart and avoid direct confrontations. Using a Fairy-type Pokémon to block enemy attacks and lure opponents away from your team is a great way to keep them at bay while you attack them from behind. You should also be sure to take into account their secondary types when choosing your counter. For example, a Psychic-type Pokemon can be a good counter to a Fairy pokemon, as it is not vulnerable to Fire attacks.

Fairy pokemon are particularly vulnerable to Steel and Poison-type moves. These are two of the most powerful attacks in the game, and a strong combination can easily one-shot a fairy pokemon. However, if you’re facing a Pokémon with a Psychic-type secondary type, it can negate this weakness by dealing more damage to your opponent.

Moreover, Fairy-type Pokemon are immune to Dragon-type moves. This is another thematic connection, as fairies are traditionally depicted as being resistant to Dragon magic.

For these reasons, it’s a good idea to use a Fire- or Water-type counter against any Fairy pokemon you encounter in battle. This will make it much easier to deal with their primary weaknesses while still making the most of their resistances.

While there are a few exceptions to these rules, the majority of pure Fairy-type Pokemon will be weak to either Steel or Poison. As such, it’s important to keep this in mind when preparing for any battle in Pokemon Go, Pokemon Sword and Shield, or Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. With this information in mind, players can be confident that they’ll be able to tackle any fairy pokemon with the right strategy.
